MISSION & VALUES

Our mission

The Brain-Drone Racing League exists to advance neurotechnology through sport. We host professional brain-drone races, and we bring the science and engineering behind them to the next generation.

We believe the connection between the human mind and the machines around us is one of the defining frontiers of this century. We also believe the fastest way to pull people toward a frontier is to turn it into a sport. In brain-drone racing, a pilot wearing an EEG headset steers a racing drone with focused thought alone. The deeper the focus, the faster the drone flies.

That work happens on two fronts. As the professional organization behind the sport, we host the races where elite pilots compete and where the public first sees what a brain-computer interface can do. As an education non-profit, we bring the same technology into middle and high school classrooms. Member schools get a BCI curriculum, the Neuroblock coding studio, a flight simulator, and everything they need to run races of their own.

OUR VALUES

  • Focus wins

This is a sport won with attention, not reflexes. We treat focus as an athletic skill, one that students can train and measure here, then carry into everything else they do.

  • Science first

BDRL was founded by the researchers who ran the world's first brain-drone race. Everything we teach and race on is grounded in real brain-computer interface research, and we present it honestly, without hype or shortcuts.

  • Students as builders

Young people come to us to make things, not just to watch them. Our members write drone-control code, study the path a signal takes from brainwave to rotor, and organize their own race days.

  • Access for every school

Talent is everywhere. Neurotechnology labs are not. We keep membership affordable and our programs practical, because a school's budget should never decide which students get to try this.

  • Safety and trust

We fly real drones with real students. That means designing for safety in the air, protecting the privacy of everyone who races with us, especially minors, and treating neural data with the care it deserves.

  • Open stewardship

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Every membership and every donation goes toward the sport and the students behind it, and we answer to the schools, families, and donors who make the work possible.
